Building Better Web Experiences Since 2019

We started with a simple observation: most websites weren't working properly on mobile devices. And this was 2019, when mobile traffic already dominated.

Six years later, we're still solving the same fundamental problem—just with better tools and a deeper understanding of what actually works in the Taiwan market.

How We Got Here

It started with a frustrating client meeting in early 2019. A local business owner showed us their website on his phone—the navigation was broken, images loaded incorrectly, and form fields were impossible to tap.

The thing is, someone had built that site just eight months earlier. They'd charged good money for it. But they hadn't tested it on actual devices people use.

We spent the next few months rebuilding that site properly. Then another. Word spread, and we realized there was a real need for development teams that understood responsive design wasn't just a checkbox—it was the foundation.

Now we work with businesses across Taipei and beyond, handling everything from initial builds to complete redesigns. The problems have gotten more complex, but the core principle stays the same: if it doesn't work on every device, it doesn't work.

The People Behind the Code

We're a small team. That's intentional. It means every project gets direct attention from people who've been doing this for years, not junior developers learning on your budget.

Freya Lindström - Design Director at voltlightwave

Freya Lindström

Design Director

Spent seven years at design agencies before joining us in 2021. She's the one who pushes back when clients ask for things that look good in mockups but fail in real use. Also handles all our Taiwan market research.

Dmitri Kowalski - Technical Lead at voltlightwave

Dmitri Kowalski

Technical Lead

Been with us since the beginning. Built his first responsive site in 2014 before it was standard practice. Now handles our most complex builds and mentors the development team. Has strong opinions about proper semantic HTML.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't aspirational statements we put on the wall. They're the practical standards we hold ourselves to on every project, even when it's inconvenient.

Device Testing First

We test on real phones, tablets, and older browsers before calling anything complete. Emulators miss too many real-world issues.

Performance Matters

Fast load times aren't a luxury in Taiwan's mobile market. We optimize images, minimize code, and test on slower connections regularly.

Honest Communication

If something's not possible within your timeline or budget, we'll tell you upfront. No surprises three weeks before launch.

Ready to Talk About Your Project?

We typically work with businesses that already understand the value of a well-built website—they just need a team that can actually deliver it.

Most projects start with a straightforward conversation about what you need, what you've tried before, and what's realistic for your timeline. No pressure, no sales pitch.

Our schedule for new projects opens up in autumn 2025. If you're planning something for late this year or early 2026, now's a good time to reach out.
